Meteor shower / Prom
Damn Tumblr didnt save my post after my com crashed last night so i am rewriting the post again.
Went to Japanese Garden with Eugene, Jiahui, Renfred, Wencong and others to the Festival of Stars organized by the Singapore Science Centre and the astronomical society of Singapore to watch the Leonid meteor shower. Then watch some science show and movie before the peak of the meteor shower. After that Eugene, Jiahui, Wencong and I shifted our mat to the rest house there as Eugene wanted to sleep for 1 hour. Then Yoshi, Lucas and their group also shifted to the rest house and we played wink murderer.
After awhile wingkit smsed that the sky started to clear up and saw 1 shooting star so we shifted out of the rest house to the grass patch beside the lake. The meteor shower was a little disappointment since can only see 4 shooting stars but its better than nothing. Actually missed quite a few cause was chatting with others and not looking in the correct direction. At least its a good experience and feel adrenaline flowing when i saw my first one since i missed the several while Yoshi they all saw it. At around 6am we pack up and took the MRT back home.
Prom was ok since the only things we do was eat, take pictures of people in formal clothes and watch magic show while the games was quite disappointing.
Met up with June and Glen since Jiahui, wencong and renfred are late. Took taxi to Maritus Mandarin Hotel. Then took the lift up to the 35th floor to the lounge and there was alot of people waiting outside. Went to register and get the door gift which is a pair of earphone. After a while the door to the lounge opened and people are allowed to enter and choose a table. The lounge is quite big with a stage at the front.
The food was quite good, they have sushi, Orange Juice Duck, Steamed cod fish and very nice desserts.After the buffet was 3 activities, Don’t forget the lyrics, Magic show and Who want to be a millionaire. The songs they give for don’t forget the lyrics except for Jason Mraz ” I’m yours” and 1 other song which i forgot was quite old. The game was played by people from 3 different tables and the first 2 tables only managed to get the first song correct and didn’t get the second song correct while the last table got all 3 songs correct and won riverside branded towels
The Magic Show show the usual tricks turning cloths into long solid rod, pulling long line of coloured handkerchief from the mouth and making birds appear out of thin air.
Then the who want to be a “millionaire“‘s question was all about school like how many steps are there to reach the 6th floor, whats the size of the graduating cohort of 2009 and how many words are there in the school song.
After the game was the end of the activities and the mc asked all the teachers to go on stage and say a few words. After that was photo taking session. Will upload pictures later
